Donated items are given to patients by the Child Life Team to celebrate holidays, birthdays and achievements in their treatments. Each patient that is about to go into surgery is given a brand-new stuffed animal.
The weather was great and we had an excellent turn out. Marc McDaniel, Director of Lease & Rental and lead rider, stated “This is much better than expected for our first annual event.” 25 bikes participated in the ride.
Visitors included motorcycle riders as well as non-riders, all who graciously donated toys, stuffed animals and gift cards. There was also a 50/50 cash raffle with proceeds added to the cause. Riders received a bag with Mack and Volvo Truck items including tee shirts and hats and drawings were held for other “swag” including some Mack and Volvo scale model trucks.
Everyone enjoyed breakfast that included coffee, donuts and a huge and varied selection of breakfast burritos from Rudy’s BBQ. If you haven’t tried those, you should!
The motorcycle run started at the dealership and headed east to the 202 and Bush Hwy, past the west end of Saguaro Lake and ended in Fountain Hills at Phil’s Filling Station.
